04 Impact of the Outreach
Participants gained vital knowledge through health education on the importance of proper nutrition and other essential health measures. Free diagnostic tests were conducted, including malaria screening, urinalysis assessment, and vital signs checks.
Registration and contact information were collected to support the creation of a follow-up and support network. This enables continuous monitoring of participants and provides them with ongoing access to health advice and guidance.
05 Challenges & Recommendations
Challenges
- •Medical supplies and diagnostic kits were limited, affecting the ability to conduct all planned tests.
- •Not all participants were attended to due to time constraints.
Recommendations
- •Primary Health Care (PHC) facilities should be adequately equipped to conduct all necessary tests before and after delivery.
- •Women should be empowered to afford proper nutrition and meet basic health needs.
- •Outreach programmes should also involve fathers, educating them on their roles during pregnancy and the first 1,000 days of an infant's life.
06 Conclusion
An infant mortality reduction outreach is not just an event; it is a lifesaving intervention that combines education, prevention, early detection, and community support to give every child a better chance at survival and a healthy start in life.
Nashen Care Foundation aims to ensure the safety and well-being of both mothers and children.
